The Quality Control Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining the quality control plan and is responsible for the overall quality control for the project. You will have the critical task of ensuring each construction project meets the meticulous standards of excellence that Richard Group embodies.
The individual holding this position is required to report to a project site five days a week at the VA Medical Center in Hines, Illinois, just outside of Chicago. It is expected that the individual lives within proximity of Chicagoland/Hines or the surrounding areas. Richard Group provides a monthly housing allowance if a candidate must relocate.
This project is expected to finish in the summer of 2027.

The Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for the development and/or review of the Accident Prevention Plan (APP), activity hazard analyses, amendments to the accident prevention plan, on site safety education, toolbox safety meetings, overall safety compliance of the project, and a proactive innovative attitude towards solving difficult site-specific safety issues.
The SSHO will play a key role in ensuring projects complies with local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines and procedures. You will ensure the safety of all employees, make sure all projects are up to code, and provide advice and recommendations for safety improvements.

Be available on site whenever work is being performed and perform site inspections and observations through the entirety of the shift.

Lead and document Near Miss and Incident Investigations performing Root Cause Analysis.
Develop and implement OHS training programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

The Project Control Lead is a new, key position at Richard Group. This position is responsible for establishing, operationalizing, and managing project controls functions within construction projects. This role involves planning, monitoring, and controlling various aspects of Richard Group projects to ensure successful completion within budget and on schedule.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with project stakeholders (VP Operations, program manager, project managers) to establish project control objectives and strategies for a portfolio of 30+ projects.

The SSHO will play a key role in ensuring projects complies with local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines and procedures. You will ensure the safety of all employees, make sure all projects are up to code, and provide advice and recommendations for safety improvements.
The individual holding this position is required to report to a project site five days a week. It is expected that the individual lives within proximity of the project location or the surrounding areas. Richard Group offers a housing allowance to cover the cost of living if a candidate must relocate.
Our projects range typically from 1 – 3 years in length.

Create and implement site specific Accident Prevention Plan for construction per EM 385 1-1.
Create and review Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) and Work Plans based upon the project schedule and definable features of work.
Ensure all safety submittals required are created, submitted and approved well in advance of scheduled preparatory meetings.
Be available on site whenever work is being performed and perform site inspections and observations through the entirety of the shift.
Provide project safety orientations and briefs.
Document Weekly Safety Meetings, Weekly Inspections, Deficiencies and Corrective Actions, Man Hours Worked and any Incident.
Lead and document Near Miss and Incident Investigations performing Root Cause Analysis.
Develop and implement OHS training programs.
Oversee disposal of substances according to environmental guidelines.
Ensure statutes, regulations, and codes are clearly understood and met.
Enforce all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience and education.
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.
Healthcare or hospital experience.
HAZWOPR 40, Lead awareness, blood-borne pathogens, attendant, and rescue, general competent person, trenching and shoring competent person, forklift, man-lift, and fire watch training certified.

Responsibilities:
Supervise project start up, project completion, punch list identification and entire close-out process
Provide project controls including costs, planning, scheduling, engineering, supervision and management of personnel
Effectively communicate and coordinate with all project team members to maintain project schedule, safety, budget and quality control efforts
Plan and organize quality processes such as work planning, pre-activity meetings, material management, incident reports and corrective actions
Ability to write and comprehend RFIs, potential change orders, project schedules,
3-week look-aheads and other project documents
Ability to clearly communicate to home office, Owner and Subcontractors
Ability to write contracts, negotiate scope, negotiate terms and conditions, subcontractor compliance and owner compliance
Have working knowledge of owner contract, subcontracts and purchase orders
Ability to manage subs in a hard-bid capacity understanding subcontractor
Contract scope and holding subcontractors to their contracts
Ability to manage schedules, SOVs, org charts, management plans, submittal review and approval for all DIV 01 – 33
Oversee the management and mobilization of equipment, labor and materials to include permits and other 3rd party requirements
Ability to run both internal project meetings as well as owner project meetings - develop content, manage BIC, etc.
Experience building P6 schedules with cost and resource loading, and understanding of all schedule and production reports to owner and company mgmt.
Manage 3-Phases of Quality Control, testing, inspection and commissioning activities
Manage sub and self-performance production with the capability of adding and removing craft staff, or modifying work plans to expedite schedule
Manage P&L, change orders, key P\performance indicators, lead and lag measurements and vendor pay applications
Manage T&Cs, stop work orders, VAAR, FAR, AIA and other related clauses
Manage LEED, performance testing, TAB, commissioning of CxR/M and CxA
Ability to manage warranty, commissioning, CPARS, PPQ and client satisfaction
Maintain relationships with owners, clients and subcontractors
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
1-5 years’ experience with a hard-bid general contracting company
A thorough understanding of construction materials, means, methods and building systems
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe and Bluebeam
Excitement about working on any shift, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, as hospital construction occurs at all hours
Ability to pass a background investigation and a drug test
A desire to stay and grow with a company that will help mentor, train, and educate you
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
Experience in federal sector projects
Experience in healthcare projects
CQMC certified from USACE
Arbitration and Mediation experience preferred
OSHA and EM-385-1-1 management, CAPP management, Safety Reporting Systems Management
Experience in Davis Bacon-Prevailing wage or Union required projects
