COMPLEXITYThis new Design-Bid-Build Elevator and Penthouse Upgrade project has more than 40 tradesmen over course of the project.  The 18-month period required a long 16-18 procurement of elevator motors and controllers.  Richard rebuilt the schedule for two and three crews to retrofit 2-3 elevators at a time along the critical path.  This project is highlighted by the performance of multiple trades, DIV 02-28,  to include metal fabrication, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, roofing, metal and wood doors, metal framing, resilient flooring, painting, signage, wet-pipe sprinkler, DIV 14 specialty conveying/lifts, plumbing, Direct Digital Controls, HVAC, electrical distribution, communications, physical access control, video surveillance, fire detection and alarm.

More than 100 tradesmen for 24 months without a single lost-time incident with 13 retrofitted elevators across five different campus buildings.

This new facility allows better supervision of inmates, provides more safety for staff and offenders, and emphasizes movement of high-security offenders to lower custody levels.
